Key things to know about the Grey Visa card.

The Visa virtual card is a virtual payment card linked directly to your Grey wallets (USD, EUR, GBP, and other supported currencies). It allows you to make online and card payments anywhere your Visa card is accepted without needing to fund or top up the card separately.

What can I pay for with the Grey Visa Card?

You can make payments across streaming sites, shopping platforms, airlines, etc.

Can I use my Grey Visa card with Apple Pay or Google Pay?

Yes. Your Grey Visa Card can be added to and used on Apple Pay and Google Pay for supported online and in-app payments.

How much does it cost to create a Grey Visa Card?

Creating a Grey Visa Card costs $5. This is a one-time card creation fee and is charged at the point of creation.

What are the requirements?

To create a USD virtual card, you'll be required to have completed your KYC verification.

Can I fund my US card with any currency?

No. The Visa card does not support deposits or top-ups. All payments are deducted directly from your selected Grey wallet.

How does currency conversion work when I make a payment?

If your card is linked to a non-USD wallet (e.g., EUR or GBP), Grey converts the equivalent amount to USD at the point of payment so the transaction can be settled.

This conversion is not free. Learn more about the conversion fee here.

Is there a maintenance fee?

No, there is no maintenance fee. However, you may be charged a cross-border fee (up to 2% + $0.50) when using your card on non-US websites. This fee is charged by the merchant or card processor, not Grey.

Do I need a US bank account to get a card?

No. To create a virtual card, you can simply top up any of your wallets.

Can I withdraw from the Virtual Card?

No. Withdrawals and transfers are not supported on our Visa cards. It is strictly for making card payments.

Does the Visa card have a PIN?

Yes. You can create and change your card PIN via the Grey app or web. The PIN is required where merchants request PIN-based verification.

Will changing my card PIN affect my subscriptions?

No. Changing your PIN does not affect existing subscriptions.

What happens if my card goes into a negative balance?

If your card balance goes into a negative state and reaches $50, the card will be automatically terminated. To avoid this, please ensure you have sufficient funds in your linked wallet before making payments.

Why can’t I create a Visa card?

Visa cards may not be available in your jurisdiction. In that case, you can create a Mastercard instead. There is a list of supported jurisdictions to create a Visa card.

What happens when I receive a refund?

Refunds are settled in your USD balance, whether the card spend was from one or multiple balances(GBP/EUR/NGN). Please note that conversion fees are not refundable. If a merchant processes a refund, only the original transaction amount will be returned.

Your card PIN is different from the one-time password (OTP) sent to authorize transactions.
