What currencies does Grey support?
Grey supports USD, GBP, EUR, NGN, KES, GHS, and several other currencies depending on your country of residence. You can hold balances, receive payments, and send money in multiple currencies from a single account.
Getting Started
How do I sign up on Grey?
Go to grey.co and click Get Started. Enter your name, email, phone number, and country of residence. Create a password and verify your email. Complete KYC verification by uploading a valid government ID. Once approved, your foreign currency accounts are ready.
How long does KYC take?
KYC verification is usually completed within a few minutes. In some cases, it may take up to 24 hours. You will receive an email or in-app notification once your verification is approved.
What documents do I need for KYC?
Accepted documents vary by country but typically include a national ID card, international passport, or driver's licence. Receiving Money
How do I receive money on Grey?
Share your Grey account details with whoever is paying you. For USD payments, share your ACH or wire routing number along with your account number, depending on how the sender is making the payment. For GBP payments, share your account number, sort code, and IBAN. For EUR payments, share your IBAN and SWIFT/BIC code. You can find your account details in the Grey app under each wallet.
What is the fee to receive money on Grey?
Receiving USD via ACH or FedNow: 0.8% (minimum $2, maximum $10). Receiving USD via Fedwire: flat $20. Receiving GBP via FPS: 0.8% (minimum £2, maximum £10). Receiving GBP via BACS: flat £15. Receiving GBP via CHAPS: flat £25. Receiving EUR via SEPA or SEPA Instant: 0.8% (minimum €2, maximum €10). Receiving NGN via bank transfer: free.
Virtual Cards
How do I create a virtual dollar card on Grey?
Open the Grey app, go to Cards, and tap Create Card. You need at least $5 in your USD balance. There is a one-time creation fee of $5. Once created, the card can be used for online payments anywhere Mastercard or Visa is accepted.
What is the difference between the Grey Mastercard and Visa card?
The Mastercard has a spend limit of $10,000 per transaction. It can be funded, withdrawn from, and deleted. The creation fee is $4, with a $1 funding fee. The Visa card has a daily spend limit of $10,000 and a monthly limit of $50,000. It is directly linked to your USD wallet and cannot be topped up separately. Creation fee is also $5.
Sending and Converting Money
How do I send money with Grey?
Log in to your Grey account. Tap Send Money. Choose your send method: bank transfer, mobile money, GreyTag, Stablecoins, or local payment rails. Select the destination country and currency. Enter the recipient's details and the amount. Confirm with your PIN and 2FA code.
What is a GreyTag?
A GreyTag is your unique Grey username. It lets other Grey users send you money instantly without needing your bank account details. You can find and share your GreyTag in the Grey app under your profile.
How do I convert currencies on Grey?
Open the Grey app and tap Convert on your home screen. Select the currency you are converting from and the currency you are converting to. Enter the amount. Review the exchange rate and fee. The converted amount reflects in your balance immediately.
What exchange rate does Grey use?
Grey uses real-time market exchange rates with a small conversion spread built in. The exact rate is shown to you before you confirm any conversion or send a transaction. There are no hidden markups applied after confirmation.
Can I withdraw my Grey balance to my local bank account?
Yes. Open the Grey app, tap Send Money, and select your local bank account as the destination. For Nigerian users, you can send NGN directly to any Nigerian bank. For Kenyan users, you can send KES to local banks or M-Pesa. Available withdrawal destinations depend on your country of residence.
Security and Support
Is Grey safe?
Yes. Grey is registered with FinCEN in the United States and FINTRAC in Canada. Your account is protected by 256-bit encryption, two-factor authentication, and real-time fraud monitoring. Grey does not store your card details in plain text.
How do I enable two-factor authentication (2FA)?
Open the Grey app, go to More, scroll to Security, and tap Two Factor Authentication. Select Authenticator App, scan the QR code with Google Authenticator or Authy, enter the six-digit code, and tap Enable.
What happens if I forget my Grey password?
Go to the Grey login page and click Forgot Password. Enter your registered email address. You will receive a password reset link. If you no longer have access to your email, contact Grey support at [email protected].

Can I use Grey to pay for subscriptions like Netflix, Spotify, or ChatGPT?
Yes. Your Grey virtual card works on most international subscription platforms, including Netflix, Spotify, ChatGPT Plus, X Premium, Midjourney, Adobe, and others. Make sure your card is funded before subscribing. If a platform declines your card due to a country mismatch, try adding the card through your device's App Store or Play Store instead.
Does Grey support USDC?
Yes. Grey supports receiving and converting USDC. You can receive USDC into your Grey account and convert it to USD, NGN, or other supported currencies. Go to Add Money and select Stablecoins to get your wallet address.
