There are several reasons why your KYC (Know Your Customer) verification might have failed, ranging from incorrect personal information to having multiple accounts and regulatory compliance issues.

  • Name Mismatch - Make sure to sign up with your legal name as it appears on your documents.

  • Underage - You must be over 18 to use Grey. Do not use someone else's document.

  • Template and Country Mismatch - Avoid selecting the wrong document type or country. For example, don't select an international passport and upload a driver's license, or select Nigeria and upload a British ID.

  • Creating Multiple Accounts - Having multiple accounts can lead to failed verification. Always remember your email account and avoid deleting and creating multiple accounts.

  • Incorrect DOB - Ensure your date of birth is accurate.

  • Unverified Identity Documents - Check that your identity documents are valid and not expired. Make sure the photos of your documents are clear and legible and that the details on your documents match the information provided. Show your face clearly when take a photo of your ID, same as the selfie face and do not attempt to crop.

  • Same Uploaded Document - Do not upload the same document you initially uploaded when you had an account but later deleted. Upload a different document that you have not uploaded before.

Regulatory Compliance Issues

  • KYC Policies - Your account and documents may not meet Grey's policies.

  • Sanction Lists - Your information could potentially match entries on sanctions lists.

Non-Adherence to Guidelines - Ensure you follow the guidelines as stated. Non-compliance can result in failed verification.
